The gig tonight is at the Monsters Of Rock Festival which is a series of weekends held at a Butlin's Holiday Camp. Blue Öyster Cult are the headliners tonight at this three day festival which started on Friday. Also on the bill were Wishbone Ash, Sweet, Uriah Heep and Hawkwind.

Butlin's Holiday Camps are a very English tradition which had their heyday in the 1950s and 1960s before families could afford to fly abroad for their vacations. The camps were located at seaside towns all over the country and accommodation was mainly caravans with restaurants and nightlife all on site so there was no reason to leave the camp. In earlier days fun competitions such as Knobbly Knees, Glamourous Grandmas and singing competitions were very popular. Now most people stay in the camps in chalets and Butlins supplement their income in winter months with music 'festivals.'

As fans have to pay for accommodation and the music is included in the price, it is not listed online the start time of Blue Öyster Cult's set.

Tickets for the weekend vary in price from £266 to about £500 ($35 to $650). The weekend is virtually sold out.

Minehead is located in the west of England so the band will probably have flown from Athens to Heathrow and then drive four or five hours from there.

Originally this gig was listed for The Principal Club in the same city.

Unfortunately again I have been unable to find out much about the actual gig itself except that tickets vary in price from €25 to €28 (about $24 to $27).

There appear to be no direct flights from US to Greece so Kasim will probably have changed planes in either London or Paris. The total travel time, including a two hour stopover, will have been about 13 hours. Greece is 7 hours ahead of New York City.

The gig tonight is at a venue called Gagarin 205. It gets its name from Yuri Gagarin (the first man in space) and from being located at number 205.

According to the venue website it is 'the most modern concert venue of Greece, a venue built to the specifications of the 21st century. Capacity of 1,200 standing or 600 seated, Gagarin 205 is not even a 'shop', but a multi-purpose venue that hosts the most demanding claims concerts, theater performances, film screenings, special events and happenings.' The venue opened on 27th September 2002.

The venue is located at Liossion 203-205, 104 45 Athens.

Unfortunately I have been unable to find out much about the actual gig itself other than the opening act is The Big Nose Attack and tickets vary in price from €25 (for the first 200 sold) to €32 (about $24 to $31).

Slim's opened in 1988 by Boz Scaggs and "is a live music nightclub dedicated to providing the public with excellent service, a congenial atmosphere, good food & drinks, and the finest of American Roots Music--Blues, R&B, Cajun/Zydeco, Jazz, Alternative, and more". The venue consists mainly of an open floor with one end of the floor being the performance stage. (From what I can remember from visiting there in 2000, the stage isn't very high.) The address of the venue is 333 11th Street, San Francisco, CA, 94103-4313. This venue is the sister venue of The Great American Music Hall where Todd Rundgren played in 2007.

Tickets for the gig tonight are $55 General Admission and can be purchased from this link. There was a $74.95 option to have dinner at the venue too but that has sold out.

This is a gig for anyone older than 6 years! Doors open at 6pm and the gig starts at 7pm. The opening act will be Deadlies.

The last time that Kasim Sulton played at Slim's was on 18th June 2009. Prior to that he played here was on 13th September 2007 (with Todd Rundgren) and then on 8th and 9th June 2000 on the Todd Rundgren Half Twisted Tour.

The address of the venue is 5485 Casino Way, El Cajon, CA 92019 and the gig starts at 8pm. There is nothing listed on the website regarding whether there is an opening act or not.

Tickets are $40 or $50 and the venue says that there are no ticket fees (hurrah!) Tickets are available online from this link but it is virtually sold out as a few days there were only 5 single seats dotted around the venue.

The tour is called the Todd Rundgren Unpredictable Tour. It starts on Saturday 22nd March in Newton, NJ and ends on Sunday 13th April in Clearwater, FL.

There are 16 dates on the tour and the pattern is to play on two consecutive nights and then have one night off.

The gig tonight is at the Saban Theatre. (Please note the website has not been working for several days now.) The address of the venue is 8440 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211.

Tickets for this gig (from this link) are $89.60, $62.40 or $46.25 after fees. A few days ago, the best seats available were in the 20th row. The gig tonight starts at 8pm and there is no mention whether there is an opening act.

The Saban Theatre was formerly known as the Fox Wilshire Theater It is an Art Deco structure and is considered a classic Los Angeles landmark. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 3, 2012.

The theatre opened as the Fox Wilshire Theatre on 19th September 1930 and for several decades was one of 20th Century Fox's premiere theaters, serving as a movie palace until a 1981 renovation converted it into a stage venue.

In March 2009 it was renamed the Saban Theatre in recognition of a $5 million grant from the Saban family.
