Kasim Sulton with Meat Loaf New Meat Loaf concert
15.45 - It hasn't been confirmed by Meat Loaf's management but according to Osprey Media Meat Loaf (and therefore Kasim Sulton) will be headlining the North Bay Heritage Festival in North Bay, Ontario on Saturday 4th August.

Click here for the venue website. Apparently a limited quantity of 15,000 wristbands will be available in advance for $25, and additional wristbands will be available at the gate for $35.

Kasim Sulton with Meat Loaf Kasim Sulton in Washington, DC
02.30 - Last night Kasim Sulton played the 18th and final concert of the first US leg of the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour. The concert last night was at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. This was the first concert since Friday 30th March (as Meat Loaf was ill).

Click here to read a thread of posts about the concert last night.

The next concert on the tour is on Thursday 10th May in Manchester, England, plus Meat Loaf (and possibly Kasim Sulton) is listed as appearing live(ish) on a UK TV show on Saturday 5th May.

Vote for Kasim!
07.30 - Kasim Sulton's online journal has been nominated in the Blogger's Choice Awards by Rebecca! He's in the Best Celebrity Blogger category and is currently listed on the third page here.

Kasim's journal currently has 6 votes and the site in first place has 1,205 but the gap between Kasim's position and 5th place is only 32 votes so that's easily achievable. Registration is necessary to vote but nobody has reported receiving any spam through the vote.

Kasim Meat Loaf Tour
07.15 - As I type this, the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton is supposed to be playing on Monday night at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC is still listed as going ahead.

Tickets are currently available for this concert in the 20th row of the orchestra. Click here to purchase tickets.

Due to Meat Loaf's illness the last full concert they played on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour was on Friday 30th March (over two weeks ago) in Hershey, PA. The next concert on the tour (after Monday) is on Thursday 10th May in Manchester, England, plus Meat Loaf (and possibly Kasim Sulton) is listed as appearing live(ish) on a UK TV show on Saturday 5th May.

Kasim Sulton was supposed to be playing a Meat Loaf concert in New York City tonight but it has been canceled
Kasim's All Sides album
06.00 - Kasim Sulton posted a message to his mailing list regarding how people can get a replacement copy of the album if their copy is faulty. The message can be read here.

Kasim Sulton, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince are The New Cars Meat Loaf concerts canceled
05.45 - Unfortunately the two Meat Loaf concerts that Kasim Sulton was due to play at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City tonight and tomorrow night have been canceled due to Meat Loaf continuing ill health. According to a press release on Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net the concerts have been canceled due to Meat Loaf having a severe inner ear infection (as well as affecting his hearing this could also be affecting his balance which could make it impossible for him to stand).

Some of the concerts have been rescheduled as follows:
4/3 - Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, FL moved to 9/1
4/5 - Mizner Amphitheater, Boca Raton, FL moved to 8/30
4/12 - Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY moved to 7/18
4/13 - Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY moved to 7/20
Refunds are available from the point of purchase for people who can not make the rearranged dates.

The concert that was to have been played on Tuesday (10th) at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, CT will not be rescheduled so refunds are available for that show.

Currently the concert at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC which was to have been played on 1st April but was moved to Monday 16th April is still going ahead on that date.

The rescheduled date for the Orlando, FL concert has not yet been announced.

Obviously these rescheduled concerts will have an impact on which concerts by The New Cars that Kasim Sulton will be able to play and will reduce the amount of free time that he'll have available to play solo gigs this summer.

The Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour and the Gigs sections of the website have been updated with these changes.

Tuesday 10th April 2007
Kasim Sulton was supposed to be playing a Meat Loaf concert in Wallingford, CT tonight but it has been canceled
Kasim Sulton with Meat Loaf Meat Loaf news
09.30 - According to a post by icwuke on MLUKFC.com the second single release from Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose by Meat Loaf in UK will be Cry Over Me. It is scheduled to be released on Monday 7th May. (Kasim Sulton sings background vocals and plays bass on this track.)

To promote the single Meat Loaf is listed as appearing on several UK radio shows (most of which stream on the Internet) although unfortunately they are currently all listed as just interviews and not performances so Kasim is unlikely to be involved. However there is supposed to be an interview and performance on the BBC1 show Any Dream Will Do on Saturday 5th May which could well include Kasim. Any Dream Will Do is a "reality TV show" where they are choosing the lead for the musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat. The show is aired on primetime Saturday night television (at around 7.45pm) and this past Saturday was the third most watched show of the evening with 5.9 million tuning in (the population of UK is about 60 million) which was a 29.8% share of the television viewing market at that time. (The top rated show of the evening had 6.8 million viewers with a 35.8% share of the audience but all viewing figures were down that weekend due to it being Easter.)

Meat Loaf has also now been confirmed as performing at the Concert For Diana at the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1st July (which would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday). This is a massive concert that is being screened live on UK television and is expected to by syndicated across the world as well as being in front of 90,000 people at the stadium. It is not yet known whether Meat Loaf will be playing with his own band (in which case Kasim would be performing too) or whether there will be a house band. Tickets for this event sold out a couple of months ago although more are expected to go on sale sometime soon.

Meat Loaf Tour
05.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton was supposed to be playing another concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour but it has been canceled due to Meat Loaf's ill health. The concert was supposed to be in Wallingford, CT. Click here to view the mention on the venue website. It lists the concert as "postponed" but no further info is given regarding a different date or what to do about refunds (although it's early days yet).

Fans have posted on various mailing lists and messageboards various flu related ailments that they've heard that is wrong with Meat Loaf. Apparently he wasn't 100% at the concert he played in Hershey, PA on 30th March and they have since canceled 4 concerts (plus only played 4 songs at another show). The next concert is scheduled to be in New York City on Thursday (12th).

Click here to read an article on ClassicRock.com about the Boca Raton concert which was stopped after 4 songs last week.

Meat Loaf concert in Wallingford, CT
07.00 - CTNow.com has an interesting pre-show write-up regarding the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton is scheduled to play tomorrow evening at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, CT.

Currently it appears that the concert is still going ahead as it is still listed on the venue website (although it is a Live Nation website and they are not the fastest at posting updates) and tickets are still for sale for the show.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map
13.30 - A few maps to catch up on (apologies for that!).

The last map posted on KasimInfo.com took the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour to Hershey, PA for the concert there on Friday 30th March. The next concert was due to be on Sunday 1st April but as that concert was canceled a day or so before, for the purposes of this calculation, the next map (on the left here) is the 1,051 miles drive from Hershey, PA to Clearwater, FL which would take 16 and a half hours to drive.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 10,830 miles.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map The next concert was on Thursday in Boca Raton, FL. (This was the concert that they started but had to stop after a few songs.)

Clearwater, FL to Boca Raton, FL (just north of Miami) is 288 miles which will have taken 4 and a quarter hours via road. (See map to the right for the route which is basically due south and then due east along Alligator Alley.)

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 11,118 miles.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map Tonight Meat Loaf was supposed to be playing a concert in Orlando, FL. Although the concert has been canceled, it is known that at least some of the band and crew traveled there so it is being included in the tour mileage calculation.

The trip from Boca Raton to Orlando is 203 miles north which will have taken about 3 hours by road. (Please see the map on the left for the whole route.)

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 11,321 miles.

10.45 - A couple of fans have made some more detailed posts (including mentioning Kasim Sulton about how the Meat Loaf concert in Boca Raton was stopped on Thursday evening.

Meat Loaf Tour news
05.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton is supposed to be playing another concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night Tour (Bat Out Of Hell III Tour) but it has been canceled due to Meat Loaf having the flu. According to the Hard Rock Live venue website the concert will be rescheduled and all tickets will be valid for the new date (or refunds will be available if fans are unable to make it).

The 3rd April Clearwater, FL concert which was canceled after fans were already in the venue, has been rescheduled for Saturday 1st September according to the Ruth Eckerd Hall website. All tickets from 4/3 are valid for the new date or, if you are unable to make it, refunds will be made. This news was also posted on TampaBayNewspapers.com.

The Kasim Sulton 2007 Gigs and Appearances section of the website has been updated with this info.

Friday 6th April 2007
Boca Raton concert to be rescheduled
13.30 - According to a report by Leslie Gray Streeter on PalmBeachPost.com the stopped Meat Loaf concert in Boca Raton, FL last night will be rescheduled.

The article says that Meat Loaf rested all day yesterday as part of his aim to perform the whole concert. It also says that all tickets for Thursday's show will be honored but when the rescheduled date is decided, ticketholders who cannot make the show will get information about refunds. Until then they are asked to hold onto the tickets until further notice.

Fans have reported hearing that the canceled Clearwater concert will be rescheduled for the next run of concerts which is expected to be in July / August 2007.

There are photos of the concert here (including one of Kasim Sulton here!).

Kasim Sulton at The Abbey Pub, Chicago, IL - 01/27/07 Another comment posted about the stopped concert in Boca Raton last night
11.00 - GeekyMomma has posted her less sympathetic comments about the Meat Loaf concert that was stopped after a few songs last night (she calls Kasim Sulton "a dweeb"!).

One Meat Loaf fan that I've heard from today, said how impressed she was with Kasim's thoughtful and sensitive handling of the unusual situation. She explained that after Meat Loaf left the stage for the second time, under the directionship of Kasim the band started playing the intro of Life Is A Lemon. Apparently they then filed off stage and Kasim walked to the front and explained about how Meat Loaf had been ill for a few days and how desperately they all wanted to play the concert tonight but that sadly it was physically impossible for Meat Loaf to continue.

Kasim Meat Loaf concert in Boca Raton last night
04.30 - Apparently the Meat Loaf concert last night in Boca Raton, FL was stopped after about 3 songs due to Meat Loaf's ill health.

There have been mixed reports about what actually happened but according to one fan "Meat Loaf was having trouble, and stopped singing during Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire), saying "I can't do it" and strode off the stage. But in just a moment he came back and tried again. It was obvious he wanted so very much to continue. But he just wasn't well enough, and finally said "I can't go on" and left the stage. Kasim then came to the front of the stage and told us that Meat had been ill, and that tonight's show would be rescheduled, and to save our ticket stubs. He emphasized that Meat had wanted to do the show for us tonight more than anything in the world."

There is another detailed comment about what happened at the concert online here too.

Meat Loaf's last concert was on Friday 30th March in Hershey, PA and he then canceled the concert in Washington, DC on Sunday 1st. They tried to play the concert on Monday 3rd in Clearwater, FL (as it was only canceled after people were in their seats) and then they started the concert last night. The next concert is schedueled to be tomorrow in Orlando, FL.

It was announced on stage in Clearwater that Meat Loaf has the flu.

Kasim Sulton's All Sides album Kasim Sulton's All Sides album
04.15 - Kasim Sulton has posted a message to his mailing list to say that apparently, in the rush to fill the orders, the fastening glue for some of the CDs was not allocated enough time to dry properly so parts of the cases have become loose.

(Ever the perfectionist) Kasim said he has made arrangements to send a second (free) copy from later in the production run to everyone who preordered a CD or might have received one from the initial mailing.

The rumor is still that Meat Loaf will play the second leg in US in July and August and in Europe in September and October but, of course, everything is subject to change.

Last nights Meat Loaf concert canceled
01.00 - Apparently last nights Meat Loaf concert in Clearwater, FL was canceled 20 minutes before it was due to start (lots of the audience were already in their seats). The reason given was that Meat Loaf has the flu.

Apparently they are hoping to reschedule the concert. The next concert on the tour is listed to be tomorrow in Boca Raton.

Tuesday 3rd April 2007
Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 18th concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida.
Kasim Sulton to play at Princess Diana Memorial Concert???
09.00 - There's been no official announcement (and the artist list is still being confirmed) but this article on FemaleFirst.co.uk says that Meat Loaf is one of the artists who has been asked to take part in the Concert For Diana in England this summer. Other musicians who have been asked include Elton John, Rod Stewart, James Blunt, Bryan Adams. Take That and The Spice Girls.

If this article is correct and if Meat Loaf can fit it into his schedule and if Meat Loaf performs with his own band then there is a chance that Kasim will be playing at this prestigious event!

This year is the 10th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana.

Kasim Sulton in Clearwater, FL
08.45 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays another concert on the on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour. This concert is at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida. This is a venue that Kasim has played numerous times over the years, the last time being in September 2005.

The Ruth Eckerd Hall was nominated one of the top five concert halls in the United States by a nation-wide industry poll of technicians, artists and their management. It comfortably seats 2,180 for concerts, recitals, plays and special events. In addition to the 200 events presented annually by the center, community groups and nationally recognized arts organizations, including The Florida Orchestra, lease the venue. The venue has an acoustically perfect chamber and the seats slope well so everyone has a good view.

The concert starts at 8.00pm and no opening act is listed. The concert appears to be almost sold out with only a few single seats available.

Monday 2nd April 2007
Kasim in Binghamton, NY
01.15 - There are some photos (including a couple of Kasim Sulton) in this thread on MeatLoaf.net of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim played on 28th March in Binghamton, NY. There's also an amusing write-up in the first post about the way that Meat Loaf introduced Kasim on stage.

Kasim Sulton April Fool's Day
01.00 - Thanks to everyone who e-mailed to say that they enjoyed the April Fool's Day Blog page yesterday. (If you missed it, then it can be viewed here.) I think I'll keep the page online and see which (if any) has come true by Sunday 1st April 2018.

KasimInfo.com has a history of April Fool's Day tricks over the years. In 2002 a lot of people were fooled by a spoof interview from Rolling Stone Magazine with Kasim that was added. Click here to read it. When it was posted it had loads of Rolling Stone logos too. Some of the Kasim quotes are genuine but some were fabricated. Ironically the part about Kasim opening for Meat Loaf even actually came true (when I wrote this spoof, I had got him listed on Pollstar a few times and they assumed that was opening for Meat Loaf but we didn't know then that Kasim Sulton would eventually open most of the concerts). This was one of the best interviews that Kasim didn't do!

In 2003 there was a very mild prank as it was just listed on the "This Day" section "On This Day in 1994 Kasim Sulton changed his socks" or something mild like that.

In 2004 a business card that was supposed to have been Kasim's was posted to the website. (Click here to view it.) That year someone did e-mail to complain that they didn't think it a good idea to post Kasim's telephone number on the website!

In 2005 there was the infamous DougInfo.com page.

Last year there was The Nude Cars photo (which apparently fooled at least one member of the band!).

No opening act has been announced (Marion Raven is not playing this set of concerts). The address of the venue is 14 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY, 12601 and this ia a link to the venue website.

This concert appears to be selling really well as when I checked TicketMaster.com last night they didn't have two seats together and the best single was 28 rows from the stage.

This venue was built in 1976 and seats 3,000 people. Kasim Sulton has played here several times over his career, the last time being 10th December 2002 (again with Meat Loaf).
