Friday 23rd February 2007
Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the first concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour at Pala Casino in Pala (San Diego), CA.
Kasim Sulton Name That (Kasim) Tune
13.30 - The answer to the 6 second long Kasim Tune which was posted on 6th February was Are You Happy Now.

Assuming I don't receive a cease and desist letter from Kasim in the near future(!) clips of several of Kasim's solo songs from his recent tour will be added to KasimInfo.com soon.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour venue Kasim Sulton in Pala, CA
06.00 - Tonight is the first concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Seize The Night Tour! The concert tonight is at the Pala Spa Casino Resort in Pala (San Diego), California.

As on previous tours, for each concert on KasimInfo.com there will be a little blurb about each venue they play. Sometimes this info is gathered from the venue website and sometimes, if it's a venue where I've been before, then it's garnered from my personal memories of the place (which isn't the most reliable source!). These blurbs are only meant as an indication of the type of venue that Kasim Sulton is playing each night and hopefully readers of this website find them interesting - I know I like to know what sort of venue Kasim is playing! If anybody is interested in submitting details about upcoming venues for inclusion (and to save me research!) then please e-mail them to SueW@KasimInfo.com.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour venue Pala, CA is about 90 minutes south of Los Angeles and about an hour east of San Diego. Kasim Sulton last played at the Pala Casino last May on The New Cars Road Rage Tour and it appears that they will be playing in the same room tonight (called the Pala Events Center). From memory this room is as wide as it is deep so nobody is all that far from the stage. It also means that some people are almost sideways on to the stage which creates an unusual view.

The venue website is here and the room holds 2,000 people. Limited view tickets are still available for this concert. Normal tickets are priced $70.00 - US $90.00 (plus charges) plus Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net offered VIP packages for the first couple of rows at $215 (plus you receive a T-shirt and other merchandise). The concert tonight starts ay 7.30pm and the address of the venue is 11154 Hwy 76, Pala, CA 92059 and the telephone number is 1-877-WIN-PALA.

Often when a musician is playing at a casino, part of the deal will be to accomodate the band for that evening. If that is the case then Kasim will be staying in 5 star luxury as it says on the website "All 507 of our deluxe rooms and suites are beautifully appointed with world class amenities that include mini-bars, 27", 32" and 36" televisions, high speed internet access and bathrooms so luxurious you'll think you're in your own private retreat"! There is also a spa onsite.

Check back after the concert for the set list, reviews and (hopefully) photos. If anybody would like to submit reviews or photos of any of the concerts on this tour then please e-mail them to SueW@KasimInfo.com.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map
05.45 - As tonight is the first concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour this is the first section of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map.

This map shows Kasim Sulton's route from Staten Island to Los Angeles (where it's been posted that the band have been rehearsing) to the venue tonight at Pala Casino in Pala (San Diego), California among the Palomar Mountains.

Obviously Kasim will have flown from the East Coast and this map shows the road route which is longer but these maps are only posted as an indication of the distances traveled on the tour (and mainly as a bit of fun) and take no account of the trips from hotel to venue and back again for example.

Staten Island to Los Angeles is 2,830 miles by road and would take about 40 hours to drive (but the flight is only about 5 hours) and Los Angeles to Pala is about 98 miles and will take about 90 minutes by road (subject to traffic conditions).

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage to date (estimated) - 2,928 miles.

05.30 - Apologies to everyone who sent in photos of Kasim Sulton's 2007 Winter Tour that have not been added to the site yet. Unfortunately I'm still having Internet connection problems with periods when my telephone line is down again or my broadband is (literally) slower than dial-up! I will get all the photos added to the website as soon as possible, plus update items like the News section.

20.15 - Kasim Sulton is shown being interviewed (and on stage) extensively in this video on YouTube.com about Notion Software. Kasim is described as "a pretty technologically advanced guy"!

Many thanks to Benny for forwarding this link.

Kasim Sulton in Mannheim - 10/14/06 Kasim and Meat Loaf
10.00 - According to a post by Paul Crook (Meat Loaf's lead guitarist) on his official website, the band are currently in rehearsals for the tour in Los Angeles.

The first concert on the tour is on Friday (23rd) at Pala Casino near San Diego, CA.

Kasim Sulton, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince are The New Cars Kasim and The New Cars???
09.45 - According to MoonDanceJam.com, The New Cars will be headlining the Friday evening show on 13th July (they are due to play at 11.00pm). Moon Dance Jam is a 4 day festival which has been held in various formats since 1992. It is in Walker, MN and lots of fans stay the whole 4 days (and nights!). Kasim last played here (with Meat Loaf) in 2002.

The New Cars were booked to appear here last summer but the gig had to be canceled after Elliot Easton's accident. Fans have reported hearing that this will not be just a one-off make-up gig and Kasim Sulton himself indicated on stage last month that multiple gigs are being booked for the band.

Whether or not Kasim and / or Todd Rundgren will be playing has not been confirmed but to date Meat Loaf dates for Kasim have only been announced to the end of June (although it was rumored that they would be playing again in US during July and August). The good news is that Moon Dance Jam is a General Admission venue so it's not vital to purchase tickets immediately.

The blurb about The New Cars on the Moon Dance Jam website appears to be from the page that they had for last years date.

Kasim Sulton's All Sides album Kasim's album All Sides
06.45 - Unfortunately the release of All Sides has had to be delayed until Tuesday 6th March due to the packaging and printing taking longer than originally expected. Once the completed album has been received it will be shipped immediately and all existing orders will take priority. (Remember there is still an offer of free shipping to anywhere in the US on all orders placed at the moment!)

06.30 - Apologies for no updates for two weeks but my telephone company "upgraded" my line which resulted in them cutting off both my telephone and Internet access and being unable to rectify it! Even now things aren't 100% but at least I'm online again!

Kasim Sulton Name That (Kasim) Tune
08.15 - The answer to yesterday's (easy) Kasim Tune was The One Sure Thing.

Today's clip can be played in two ways. The harder option is to stop it after 3 seconds (the clip is only 6 seconds long) as then you'll be guessing it from just 5 notes! The easier way is to listen to all 6 seconds of the clip as the line which Kasim sings is quite a giveaway. Click here for today's clip which again comes from the Ann Arbor gig.

The answer and another clip will be posted tomorrow.

17.00 - The answer to yesterday's Kasim Tune was Drive.

As a few people didn't get it correct yesterday, today's is an easy one. Click here for today's clip which comes from the Ann Arbor gig. If you look closely in the video you can see Doug Kennedy's right leg - easy girls!

The answer and another clip will be posted tomorrow.

THREE WEEKS TODAY until Kasim Sulton's All Sides album is released!!!
Kasim Sulton 2007 Winter Tour Map Kasim Sulton Winter 2007 Tour Map
13.00 - Apologies for being slightly late in updating this but here are the final two Kasim Sulton 2007 Winter Tour Maps from last weekend.

Chicago to Valparaiso
Last Saturday evening Kasim Sulton made the journey after his gig in Chicago, IL to Valparaiso, IN for his show on the Sunday. The journey is supposed to take just over an hour and is about 50 miles (lots of fans got caught in the blizzard on Sunday so it took 2-3 hours then!).

Kasim Sulton's Winter 2007 Tour Mileage to date (estimated) - 1,592 miles.

Kasim Sulton 2007 Winter Tour Map Valparaiso to Staten Island
On Monday morning Kasim Sulton made the trek back home to the East Coast. According to the map website that I use, the trip is supposed to be 771 miles and take twelve and a half hours. (However when I sat outside the Valparaiso venue I put JFK Airport (where I was headed) into my car's GPS and it brought up 811 miles!)

Kasim Sulton's Winter 2007 Total Tour Mileage - 2,363 miles.

(Obviously the above figure is an estimate and is only from venue to venue but the actual mileage on my own hire car was 2,644 miles plus 3,452 flying miles each way.)

Kasim Sulton Kasim in Valparaiso
08.30 - There's a nice post here about someone meeting Kasim Sulton after the Valparaiso gig last Sunday, plus quite a detailed review of the gig by the lady who is a singer herself.

Kasim Sulton Name That (Kasim) Tune
08.15 - The answer to yesterday's Kasim Tune was Sacrifice - the clip displayed Doug Kennedy's great lead guitar in the song.

Click here for today's clip which is slightly harder (and shorter). It also comes from the Pittsburgh gig.

A special photo for Superbowl Sunday:
