Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Map
17.45 - On Sunday night Kasim Sulton played a concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour in Winnipeg, MB and tomorrow night he plays the next concert on the tour in Toronto, ON.

Winnipeg to Toronto is a long 1,389 miles south east by road and the map route website that I use takes the trucks back into America and then back into Canada. This route would take over twenty one hours to drive. Obviously the trucks have to take the road route but a non-stop direct flight would take 2 hours and 20 minutes and cost from $314 coach or $1,119 first class on Air Canada.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 7,547 miles.

Pre-concert publicity for Ottawa
15.30 - Click here to read an article in advance of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton will be playing in Ottawa on Friday. It doesn't mention Kasim (or any of the band) at all and it appears to be another article from the telephone press conference that was held before the start of the tour although he does mention a review that was posted during the tour.

Meat Loaf mentions Jim Steinman, the success of Bat Out Of Hell 3, using a voice coach and working out amongst other things.

This article is on Canada.com and (once again) uses a parody of Meat Loaf's name as the title for the article is "Meat Loaf, reheated".

Kasim Sulton in Mannheim - 10/14/06 Review of Vancouver Concert
17.00 - There's a detailed review of the Meat Loaf concert on the Bat Out Of Hell 3 Tour that Kasim Sulton played on 2nd March in Vancouver on Metal-Rules.com here, including some photos. Unfortunately there's no photos of Kasim but he is mentioned as being Meat Loaf's bassist (although his name is spelt incorrectly!).

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Reviews of Meat Loaf concerts
15.45 - Click here to read a review of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played last night in Winnipeg, MB on WinnipegSun.com. Kasim doesn't receive a mention but the reviewer does give the concert three stars out of five.

This link on Canoe Jam has a review of the concert in Calgary on Thursday night. (No mention of Kasim or any of the other musicians again.)

Kasim's Journal Updated
15.30 - Kasim Sulton has updated his online journal about the Winnipeg concert last night. He said that Dennis Quaid (who apparently is an actor) appeared on stage with them. Kasim also includes a photo here.

Kasim also says that people receiving their copies of All Sides is "only a few days away" but other fans have reported receiving e-mails saying that they "will ship in approximately 10 days".

Kasim has also posted another video on YouTube.com here.

The venue tonight seats 16,170 and the whole sit covers 147,000 sq. ft. This venue opened in November 2004 and this is the first time that Kasim Sulton has played here.

08.45 - On Thursday night Kasim Sulton played a concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour in Calgary, AB and tonight he plays the next concert on the tour in Winnipeg, MB.

Calgary, AB to Winnipeg, MB is a long 823 mile trip by road in a totally eastwards direction which would take over 17 hours by road so thankfully they have had 2 days to travel the distance. This journey started in Alberta and passed through Saskatchewan into Manitoba. (To give you an idea of roughly where they are, Alberta is due north of Montana and Manitoba is due north of North Dakota.) A flight from Calgary, AB to Winnipeg, MB takes about 2 hours and costs from $290 (coach class) on Air Canada

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 6,981 miles.

16.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 7th concert (the 5th in Canada) of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, AB, Canada. The concert starts tonight at 7.30pm and this is a link to the venue website. The address of the venue is 555 Saddledome Rise S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 2W1.

Meat Loaf tour venue Tickets for the concert tonight are $89.50, $69.50 and $45.50 (plus convenience charge and order processing fee). Rod Stewart played at this venue last night and charged $125.00 and $95.00 plus the same fees! There are currently floor seats available in the 10th row of the venue and Marion Raven is the opening act.

This venue is about 20 years old and covers a massive 17,000 square feet (plus the outside grounds). Apparently backstage there are 4 dressing rooms, 2 backstage lounges and an event office. According to the website the arena lighting is a combination of metal halide and incandescent lighting with a maximum of 1,350 lux (135 foot candles) on the event floor. There are also more than 40 spotlight positions available (hopefully Kasim Sulton will be well lit by at least one of them tonight!). According to the venue website the "sound quality is excellent. Over 6,400 roof panels, coupled with the superb acoustical engineering inherent with the buildings shape, eliminate reverberation- allowing the highs and lows to clearly radiate to all areas of the event area".

Kasim Sulton in Mannheim - 10/14/06 Kasim Sulton in Kelowna, BC
10.00 - There are some photos (including Kasim!) and a review of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played in Kelowna, BC, Canada the night before last in this thread on MeatLoaf.net.

Apparently after The Rolling Stones encore song Gimme Shelter, they also played Black Betty and Mercury Blues that evening.

The first post includes some nice comments about Kasim and is by the mother of the young boy who Kasim spoke to in the YouTube video Kasim posted yesterday.

Kasim Sulton's new album All Sides is released today!!!
Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 6th concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Venue Kasim Sulton at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, Canada
10.00 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 6th concert (the 4th in Canada) of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, Canada. The concert starts tonight at 7.30pm and this is a link to the venue website. The address of the venue is 1223 Water Street Kelowna, BC and this venue used to be called Skyreach Place. Marion Raven is the opening act.

Tickets for this cost are $69.50 (plus charges) and it's another concert that is selling really well as the best seats available are in the 30th row of the third block back on the floor! Click here to purchase tickets.

Prospera Place is the home of the hockey team The Kelowna Rockets and there is a warning on their website as follows:
"Pucks will sometimes leave the ice surface and land in the seating area of Prospera Place. You are urged to be alert and to follow the play and the puck at all times. Our medical staff should be there to assist you in the event that you are hit, however, if you require immediate assistance, contact any member of the security or ushering staff and report the incident. Fans are welcome to keep pucks that are shot into the stands however, as long as there is no interference with the game."
Although this warning is unlikely to apply tonight regarding pucks, the same could be said about Kasim's guitar picks!

This building is 365 feet long, 243 feet wide and 66-70 feet high and contains the following facilities:
130 sinks
26 urinals
118 toilets
44 non-gender bathrooms
6 men's bathrooms
7 women's bathrooms
3 elevators
16 showers
This building was completed on 9th August 1999 after it's ground breaking ceremony on 5th May 1998. Apparently it took approximately 28,000 man hours of labour to create, has 6,000 cubic yards of concrete at 4,000 lb/yard; has 24,000,000 pounds of concrete and required 30,000 cubic yards of soil to be excavated!

The arena seats 6,800 for concerts and if you fancy staging your own concert here (or a group of fans want to get together to hire it so that Kasim can play a solo gig here!) Prospero Place can be hired at a cost of $4500 for weekdays and $6000 for weekends but this does not include the costs of staff, equipment, electricity, etc.!

Kasim Sulton in Mannheim - 10/14/06 Review of Last Night's concert
13.00 - Click here to read a review of the concert that Kasim Sulton played last night as part of Meat Loaf's band in Edmonton, AB.

The reviewer gives the concert 3.5 out of 5 stars but unfortunately (once again) Kasim doesn't get a mention (neither do any of the other musicians) - if you read these reviews you'd believe that it's only Meat Loaf and Aspen Miller on stage at each gig!

Kasim's new KSulton Bass
01.00 - For the first set of the recent Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour concerts, Kasim Sulton has been playing a new KSulton Bass.

Depending on the light it looks light blue, pink or white in color bit I've been assured that it is silver. It contains Kasim's signature on the 12th fret (as does his black KSulton Bass) but this one also has his signature "K" too.

Below is the best photos I've found so far of the bass - you can just make at the "K" at the right of the photo.

TWO DAYS until Kasim's new album All Sides is released!!!
Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 5th concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB, Canada.
Meat Loaf Tour Venue Kasim at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB, Canada
12.30 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 5th concert of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight (their 3rd in Canada) is at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB. Click here to view the venue website and the address is 7424 118 Ave. N.W., Northlands Park, Edmonton, AB T5B 4M9.

Rexall Place (formerly known as The Northlands Coliseum) is home to the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and to Edmonton Rush of the National Lacrosse League. Both The Who and Yes have recorded live DVDs at this venue. Four days ago Van Morrison played a concert here and in a couple of days Rod Stewart will also be playing here so this venue attracts some really top names!

Meat Loaf Tour Venue The concert tonight starts at 7.30pm and, once again, tickets appear to be selling really well as there are no floor seats remaining and the best seats avaailble yesterday were back in the 30th row of one of the back blocks on the side so a fair way from the stage! Tickets for this gig cost CA $45.50 - CA $89.50 and can be purchased from this link. Marion Raven will again be the opening act. As far as I'm aware Meat Loaf has not played in this city for at least 13 years and neither has Kasim Sulton in all the bands he's played in over these past few years.

Rexall Place is a non-profit organization and is one of Edmonton’s largest employers with 300 full time and over 1,800 part-time and event staff. Concerts have been held here since 1973. This venue holds 17,100 for concerts and has a square footage of 85,000 with a ceiling height of 80 feet at its maximum. The Light Rail Transit System has a terminal on site plus there is parking for 6,500 cars. There are 5 dressing rooms (plus 2 production rooms) at the venue. Most of the dressing rooms are over 11 foot by 20 foot and all contain a toilet, sink and shower.

Click here to read a pre-concert interview with Meat Loaf (it doesn't mention Kasim Sulton).

Kasim Sulton video New Kasim Sulton video
12.45 - Kasim Sulton has posted a new video online at YouTube.com here. It was taken backstage before the concert in Vancouver on Friday and the interesting things in it are that there is now a tour program available and there is a film crew recording things backstage.

Right at the end Kasim makes up a mini-song about Vancouver which is fun to watch!

Saturday 3rd March 2007
Review of Meat Loaf concert in Vancouver

Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)
Anything For Love
Rock 'n' Roll Dreams
Objects In The Rear View Mirror

Seize The Night
The Monster Is Loose
Bad For Good
If It Ain't Broke
Blind As A Bat
Two Outta Three Ain't Bad
Bat Out Of Hell

It's All Coming Back To Me Now
Life Is A Lemon
Gimme Shelter

17.15 - Last night Kasim Sulton played a concert on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night (Bat Out Of Hell III) Tour in Vancouver, BC and tomorrow evening he plays the next concert on the tour in Edmonton, AB.

Vancouver to Edmonton is 720 miles north east by road and would take almost 15 hours to drive. Alternatively a direct flight between the two cities on Air Canada takes 85 minutes and costs from US$256 one way.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour Mileage by road to date (estimated) - 5,225 miles.

Kasim Sulton, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince are The New Cars Another New Cars new concert
11.15 - A third date for The New Cars has been discovered on the Internet! It's on Monday 14th May at The Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, MN. This is a gig that Kasim Sulton will not be playing as he'll be touring with Meat Loaf in England at that time. Tickets for this gig go on sale here on Friday (9th).

So far the discovered (but unconfirmed) dates for The New Cars are:
5/12 - Cypress Gardens Adventure Playground, White Haven, FL Kasim will not be playing)
5/14 - Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, Prior Lake, MN (Kasim will not be playing)
7/13 - Moon Dance Jam, Walker, MN (Not yet known whether or not Kasim will be playing)

Kasim Sulton in Mannheim - 10/14/06 Pre-concert Vancouver Publicity
07.00 - Click here to read some pre-concert publicity about the Vancouver Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played last night in Vancouver, BC.

Meat Loaf speaks about having vocal lessons and says that the album Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose (on which Kasim plays and sings on every track) has earnt gold status in the United States and Canada plus platinum in the United Kingdom and Germany.

There's also a photo that shows Kasim in the background on the page (it was taken during The Today Show in October).

Kasim Sulton Set List for Victoria, BC concert
06.45 - The set list for the Meat Loaf concert which Kasim Sulton played on Wednesday evening in Victoria, BC was:

All Revved Up
Paradise By The Dashboard Light
You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth
Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)
Anything For Love
Rock 'n' Roll Dreams
Objects In The Rear View Mirror

Seize The Night
The Monster Is Loose
Bad For Good
If It Ain't Broke
Blind As A Bat
Two Outta Three Ain't Bad
Bat Out Of Hell

It's All Coming Back To Me Now
Life Is A Lemon
Gimme Shelter

Apparently Marion Raven was the opening act (there was no opener at the first two concerts on the tour) and she had Randy Flowers from Meat Loaf's band playing with her.

The set list was changed slightly at the end of the set as Two Outta Three Ain't Bad was played before Bat Out Of Hell (rather than as the first song of the encore), plus the duet with Marion Raven, It's All Coming Back To Me Now was the first song of the encore.

There is a collage of videos of this concert on YouTube.com here. It appears to have been taken from various angles within the venue from the audience and there are shots where Kasim Sulton is shown, plus you can hear him clearly re-starting You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth!
