Click here to purchase tickets for this concert and here to purchase VIP tickets after purchasing a $40 fan club membership (the latter page has a close-up of the graphic from the drum riser on stage and you can really see why Meat Loaf said on stage about how much it looked like a younger Kasim!). This concert is part of the GE Kids in Free Concert Series plus they have an offer of 4 lawn seats for adults at $60 instead of $80. Currently there are tickets still available in the 12th row of the front block on Kasim's side of the stage.

08.30 - On Tuesday morning (24th) at about 8.30am Kasim Sulton will be interviewed about his solo career on The Brother Wease Morning Circus on WCMF 96.5 FM in the Rochester, NY area (this station also covers parts of Buffalo). Unfortunately it appears that the radio station doesn't stream on the Internet but they do have a "listen again" feature for some parts of the show.

Kasim was last on the show back in 2001 and Brother Wease is known as a "shock jock" so it could be a very interesting interview!

Many thanks to Scott Van Dusen of Sphere Sound Records for this info.

Kasim Sulton solo gig

Sunday 15th July 2007
Kasim Sulton and Meat Loaf
17.00 - Two more Meat Loaf concerts have been added in UK and one in Holland for November. A newspaper advertisement this week said that these would be the final UK concerts added to the tour. The additional dates are:
Thursday 8th November - Nottingham Arena, Nottingham, England
Sunday 11th November - Cardiff International Arena, Cardiff, Wales
Tuesday 20th November - The Ahoy, Rotterdam, Holland
There are no dates announced so far for the period 12th to 19th November so more concerts are expected to be added somewhere (possibly Ireland as there are no gigs there on that leg so far). Kasim last played in Nottingham in 1994, in Cardiff in 2004 and in Rotterdam in 2001.

At the two UK concerts Meat Loaf has introduced a new type of ticket called the Bat Cave (there are reports that some fans who bought VIP tickets at some of the other UK concerts have been asked if they wish to upgrade to this type of ticket too). Apparently the Bat Cave will consist of areas at the front of the stage where fans can stand to see the concert. Apparently this area will be in front of the seats but will not block their view. TicketMaster.co.uk posted the following seating plan on their website with the Bat Cave marked in red:

Kasim Sulton venue

Meat Loaf has posted that existing seats will not be moved back to accomodate the Bat Cave but that still leaves the question about where Kasim's microphone stand will be as if it is at the back part of the stage then he will be further back than normal from seated fans and if he is at the front part then he will have his back to those in the Bat Cave. Meat Loaf has posted that "It will look like a cave, made with scrim and be closed off from the seats". He has also posted that the Bat Cave at each concert will hold about 90 fans. Tickets for the Bat Cave are £109 (about $200) each. 90 X £109 = £9,810 (about $16,000). Bat Caves are not being made available at the US concerts (which generally tend to be smaller venues).

This Wednesday (18th) Kasim plays the first concert of the 22 date second US leg of the Meat Loaf Three Bats Tour.

Kasim Sulton Kasim Sulton and The New Cars

carried on playing after hardly missing a note!

01.15 - Tonight Kasim Sulton plays the 23rd and final concert of the first European leg of the Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III Tour. The concert tonight is at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol in the south west of England. Kasim last played in this city in 2004 on the Todd Rundgren Liars Tour. Ashton Gate Stadium is the ground of the soccer club Bristol City and it is an open air concert (not always a good idea in Glastonbury and Wimbledon week!). Click here for a news clip about transforming the stadium for the concert.

This venue holds 14,000 people and is mainly a standing concert with seats around the sides. The concert starts at 7.30pm (2.30pm Staten Island time) and doors open at 6.00pm. Marion Raven will again be the opening act. This will be Marion Raven's final gig with Meat Loaf as she will be opening for Pink in Europe while Meat Loaf is on tour in US. Tickets are still available for this concert.

06.45 - A number of videos (related to Kasim Sulton) have been added to the Internet in the past few days:

Meat Loaf at the Frankfurt concert
Papolio has added 11 videos of the Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton played on Thursday (21st) in Frankfurt, Germany. The quality of each video varies and unfortunately Papolio was obviously standing next to someone who sang loudly out of tune(!) but Kasim is shown in several of the videos.

Meat Loaf at Yello Strom
Speedy0673 has added 14 videos of the Meat Loaf appearance at Yello Strom that Kasim Sulton played yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany. The videos appear to have been taken off the television but there are a few close shots of Kasim.

Kasim Sulton - Backstage Pass
Kasim Sulton has added another (the 12th) video to his Backstage Pass series. This video appears to have been filmed on Thursday in Frankfurt. The first 2 minutes and 25 seconds is just the band being bored backstage but then Kasim gets someone to translate what he's saying into German (including a mention of All Sides) and the final 25 seconds of the clip shows how large (and enthusiastic!) the crowd were at the concert.
