Kasim Sulton Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour reviews
16.30 - Since The Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour started in UK almost three weeks ago there have been some quite brutal reviews by the British press and by concert-goers who are not avid Meat Loaf fans. (To date no press reviews have mentioned Kasim Sulton by name.)

Having been so busy with going to the concerts (and Real Life) to date the reviews have been barely mentioned on KasimInfo.com but the following is a selection:

Meat Loaf's official website MeatLoaf.net has had all positive reviews. This is probably mainly due to the fact that only paying members are allowed to post on the messageboard and people are unlikely to pay to join and then rubbish the performances.

MLUKFC.com has mainly positive reviews but some fans have expressed their disappointment either at a whole concert or at aspects of one.

SafeConcerts.com have a whole spectrum of opinions about all the different concerts on the tour, ranging from people who hated it and wished they hadn't attended to those who loved every minute of it.

Plymouth
ThisIsPlymouth.co.uk has a positive review of the concert but out of the 35 comments by viewers after the article, about 28 of them are negative, mainly citing Meat Loaf's voice and performance that evening.

Bath
On ThisIsBath.co.uk Meat Loaf's "representatives" defend the comments made about the gig on the website. As well as citing a poor sound system, the other complaints have been regarding Meat Loaf's voice and his performance itself.
Followng the article there are 40 comments from fans, the majority of which praise the band but are negative about Meat Loaf himself.

Romsey
There have been a number of negative reviews of the Broadlands gig, mainly due to the poor sound and the fact that it was very windy that evening.
ThisIsHampshire.net has a challenge by a pub landlady for Meat Loaf to prove that he can still sing well by singing in her pub garden! One quote is "Many of the 10,000-strong audience left the £37.50 gig early, complaining of poor sound quality and a lacklustre performance".
ThisIsHampshire.net followed up the article by posting a videoclip of Anything For Love so people could make up their own minds but the clip now appears to have disappeared from their website.
A couple of days later, acording to DailyEcho.co.uk, Meat Loaf apologized for the poor sound quality at this gig and said that the band on stage were not aware of the problems during the concert.

York
The Guardian is a national British broadsheet newspaper that is know for its arts reviews and included a fairly neutral review of this concert here.
TheDailyEcho.co.uk (which really seems to have it in for Meat Loaf!) has an article about this gig titled "Meat Loaf fails to impress again". This is a clip (still showing) of the gig to "judge for yourself" again. The majority of the 13 comments posted by fans after the article all seemed to have enjoyed the gig.

Norwich
NorwichEveningNews has an article titled "Fans storm out of Meat Loaf concert" which includes the phrase "Criticisms about his singing, swearing and drinking on stage were met with a wall of silence from publicists after scores of people left the concert early, saying it was time for the aging rocker to give up".
Advertiser24.co.uk has a similar article. This one is titled "Fans hit out at Meat Loaf".

Meat Loaf
A couple of days ago Meat Loaf made a post on the forum attached to his official website which starts with the following:
"Well thousands of Fans storm off in disgust because of swearing and drinking beer on stage at blicking hall . oh so much beer was consumed . Let's see I put my tongue in the bottle and only every bring it up to my lips once." thousands of fans" S ure seemed like everyone was still there we we came back for Mercury. These local hick papers are sure after me . What do you think I did to them? It's ok because even if they gave us a good review , I'm I going to use there quote on poster "think Not" These people really have gone out of ther way to go after me affter the hampsire show and I don't know why. Very puzzled People who have seen show for years promotors, my crew , have said nice things".

Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour Map - Romsey to Norwich
04.45 - Time to catch up with the tour map!

Last Sunday we left our band of intrepid musicians in Romsey. Hampshire down in the south of England. The following day they made their way north up to Nottingham which is in the center of the country. This journey will have taken about 3.5 hours and was 180 miles.

The next part of the tour was undertaken by Kasim Sulton only and was for his solo gig in London when he drove himself from Nottingham to London and back. (For details about his trip see his video on YouTube.com here.) This trip was 129 miles each way and will have taken him about 3 hours (longer going to London as he arrived during the rush hour).

They played a concert in Nottingham on Wednesday evening and then travelled to just north of York for the concert on Friday. Nottingham to York was only 88 miles but will have taken about 90 minutes as it was mainly small roads.

Tonight the 8th gig of The Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour is just near Norwich in the east of the country. York to Norwich is 185 miles but will have taken over 4 hours (due to there not being many major roads in that part of the country).

Total Meat Loaf Casa De Carne Tour Mileage to date by road venue to venue (estimated) - 1,728 miles (including 258 miles for Kasim's solo gig).

Kasim Sulton at The 12 Bar Club, London, England - 07/08/08 Kasim Sulton's solo gig in London - set list and video
01.15 - Last night Kasim Sulton played his first ever solo gig in London, England. The gig was at the famous 12 Bar Club in the center of the city and was attended by fans from all over England plus a few from America too!

Kasim played for about an hour and his patter was probably the funniest I've heard, especially about driving down from Nottingham (about 3 hours away) and having to drive on the other side of the road for the first time!

A review and photos will be added to KasimInfo.com at the weekend but his set list was:
Are You Happy Now?
Yellow Cab
Sometimes Love Is A Dangerous Thing
Libertine
Cliché
There Goes My Inspiration
Before She Was Gone
Somebody Loves You
The One Sure Thing
Watching The World Go By
Sacrifice

Click here for a short 9 second clip of Kasim singing Nik Kershaw's Somebody Loves You that shows how great his voice sounded.
