No time to write a real review so a number of comments instead! (There's a really detailed review of the Plymouth concert here.)
I thought it was a good concert overall, certainly the sound was far better (i.e. louder and more steady) than Romsey. Meat Loaf seemed to be having some problems with the sound in If It Ain't Broke (he even took his ear-pieces out during most of the song) but that soon seemed to be fixed.
It was a really good sized crowd although getting out of the car park was a nightmare. My main problem was that I just couldn't find my car - I'm sure somebody moved it during the concert as not only was it in a totally different place to where I remembered but it was also facing in a different direction! It took me 50 minutes to find it and then another half hour to get out of the car park.
It was nice to be able to see Castle Howard from the concert site (at Romsey we couldn't see Broadlands). It was near a lake so there were lots of midges! This castle is where 40% of Brideshead Revisited was filmed.
As there was a big traffic jam on my route I didn't get there until about 5 minutes before their set started but I still managed to get to only about 6 or 8 rows from the front. The last part of the journey was about 6 miles of country lanes where you hope you don't meet any cars coming the opposite way and there were loads of up and down the Yorkshire dales which was really exciting and pretty!
It rained a bit at the start of the set and then constantly at the end, not hard but enough to soak you. The band looked cold up on stage (Kasim kept blowing into his hands).
It was the full set list, although I thought Dave's sax solo in Rock'n'Roll Dreams was a bit shorter but the Dissentience seemed longer (which I thought was brilliant!). Kasim was really the star of that tune as he was teh only one who moved off his perch at all! He started off over on Paul's side then went over to Randy and finally stood in the middle of the stage too.
They played for about an hour and fifty minutes and finished at just past 10.30pm (as I assume there was a curfew).
Meat Loaf swore a lot more on stage than normal ( I think he used the F word about 10 or 12 times). He said that people had complained that at these concerts that he wasn't interacting enough with the audience but said that he just wanted to play rock'n'roll ("so f@@k them") and later that people had said something (I can't remember exactly what but I've only just driven home overnight!) about the alcohol in the set ("so f@@k the teetotallers"). Later he apologised for the fact there were no video screens and said that he was partly (but not wholly) responsible so he counted to 3 for us to say "f@@k you"!
As I was walking out it was interesting listening to people's comments about the concert. Everybody around me was saying that they had a great time but one guy complained about Meat Loaf's voice at times to which his mate asked him if his grandfather could sing as well at his age as that which shut him up!
There were a couple of times on stage when Meat Loaf's voice wasn't very strong so I could hear Kasim's vocals over him really clearly which was wonderful!
Kasim started with his pearl coloured bass and then swapped to his black KSulton Bass after Life Is A Lemon.
Kasim was wearing all black including his black out door jacket (not his leather one).
Apparently they all got lost getting to the venue so the sound check was rushed.
During Blind As A Bat there's always a part when Meat Loaf goes and sits on the drum riser facing Patti for a couple of lines. I'm not sure why he always does that! He does have a couple of red stools on stage always but he hasn't used them except when they sang You Took The Words that once in Plymouth.
I got there too late for the opening act but I found out later that it was Arnos Carstens followed by Pearl.
There was a big sign on stage saying they had a no recording policy. It also said no videotaping but there was a speaker in the way so I could only read the word photography and not the word "no"! There were some security guys wandering around stopping people from taking photos but they weren't too successful as they were wearing bright green fluorescent jackets so you could see them a mile off! The main reason that I didn't take many cameras was because I didn't want the rain to ruin my camera.
I think that Patti's song should be recalled Somebody as, other than a few ohs, all Kasim sings in that song is "Somebody" 3 or 4 times!
Kasim seemed to be wandering over the stage a bit more tonight than usual. He went over to Paul's side 3 or 4 times and stood up beside the drums a couple of times too.
At the beginning of Anything For Love and during part of Blind As A Bat Meat Loaf really didn't hit the notes very well.
At the beginning of Paradise By The Dashboard Light Meat Loaf introrduced the band. This was only the second time on this tour that he's done that (the first time was in Plymouth).
They had a band bow again tonight.
I counted tonight and Kasim only sings two lines on his own during I Want You So Hard (Boy’s Bad News). After hearing Paul's line, somebody near me remarked on the fact that he now realises why Paul doesn't sing on stage!

Meat was in great form. He came on and prowled the stage. He was really fired up.
The overwhelming feeling is how much he seemed to be enjoying it. Yes he was angry with the press and made a few jibes, but he sense of humour really came out.
The crowd were brilliant and sang their hearts out tonight! I don't know if that was just more noticeable in the great outdoors or whether they really did!
Rain came back with avengence. But with Meat and the Neverland Express in front of you the weather don't matter at all. ( well till it's over and you realise you're soaked.
Last night Meat was consumed with anger, possibly fueled by misquotes and untruths by the press. Even before Frying Pan, his anger was unleashed upon us all, and it was thrilling to behold.
