Yellow Submarine

This was another great Dutch crowd! Although I deliberately got there late as always (you can have too much of a gold lame suit!), I was in plenty of time to see all the hand-held lights (and sparklers) for Music (Was My First Love). That song is just amazing to hear with an orchestra and full choir and is almost Meat Loaf length although it only consists of 41 words!
Meat Loaf’s set was over 47 minutes long tonight as the intro to Paradise By The Dashboard Light probably took over 5 minutes. He found that white glove again so he spent a while holding it over Laurie Wisefield’s head before highlighting John Miceli, John Miles and then Mark Alexander! After all that, Meat Loaf then started the song in the second verse! It took a while for the orchestra to get back on track as they knew they were playing the correct notes so weren’t sure why Kasim was patting his head at the conductor (to start at the top) or why they had to re-play those bars!
Some of the “names” will often link arms and dance together in a line and tonight, when Kasim was amongst them, they started doing high kicks too - he’s certainly supple!
Roll on tomorow night…..!
