Yellow Submarine

It was a good concert tonight but not the best by far. Personally I felt that they (especially Meat Loaf) didn’t give 100% tonight - maybe last night’s televised show took too much out of him. Thankfully his voice was fine though.
The show itself followed the same format as always with the special guest being the Belgian guy again whose name I’m yet to catch! He goes down well with the crowd but nowhere near as well as Rob Di Nise did. I stood at the far right side today and the Belgian guy spent a lot of the first half of the concert standing behind me watching it and nobody recognised him!
John Miles always gets such a great reaction from the crowd. I think he only had the one hit in UK (which is probably why he sings ELO’s Mister Blue Sky too) but the atmosphere during Music (Was My First Love) is incredible! When he sings the lines for the third time in the song, all the orchestra stand and most people sing along too.
Obviously the cost of violins is high as Meat Loaf resorted back to their old patter tonight. Again we didn’t sing the word “Light” to his satisfaction (although it was far better than they ever sang it in Germany!) so he, the band and most of the orchestra walked off stage again!
Yellow Submarine was great fun as always. Tonight at the end of the song they released masses of tinsel from the ceiling which was very effective! We did wonder if that was supposed to have happened last night when the television cameras were there as they’ve only did that on the first night of the tour before!
We’re beginning to get slightly concerned about Martin Fry as he seems very keen to keep putting his arm around Kasim’s shoulders! Some of the guys on stage (like John Miles) dance with the two female background singers but Martin Fry always seems to make a beeline for Kasim (hmmm!)!!
Roll on Tuesday night…..!
