Yellow Submarine
I think it was the same setlist as last night - the French guy was a big hit with the crowd again. They’ve started spotlighting the percussion guy (Patrick someone) more and more in these shows. He’s always been featured in one tune when he runs around with a mallet, inciting the crowd to sing, but now he’s also featured heavily in Martin Fry’s set too (Martin Fry needs all the help he can get IMO!).
Although it’s not actually a Meat Loaf concert, tonight there were a few Meat Loaf T-shirts around but he always receives a massive cheer when he walks on stage anyway! Tonight Kasim was wearing a black shirt over a black T-shirt which looked very natty!
Meat Loaf had the same set list as on the other nights and I couldn’t detect any difference in the arrangement tonight - in You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth they sang and sang the “kissing me” part while clapping at their microphones again.
Again Kasim went and stood with Laurie Wiseman during the non singing part at the end of Anything For Love but tonight he stayed in the spotlight during the opening of Paradise By The Dashboard Light thankfully. He’s also started doing this kind of jive (I’m not explaining it too well) with the guy who I think is the first violinist!
Yellow Submarine was as light hearted as ever tonight. I’ve noticed that other than the once, Kasim hasn’t collected a bunch of flowers and tonight in fact he deliberately avoided the flower girls by walking behind the piano! His lip / tongue movements during the choir part of Yellow Submarine is amazing to watch!
Roll on Tuesday…..!
