On Saturday 22nd March 2003, Kasim Sulton played his second gig as part of The Pat Travers Band at Jaxx in Springfield, VA. The third member of the group was Sandy Gennaro who Kasim used to play with in Joan Jett's band.

"Kasim made his way around Jaxx pretty much unnoticed by the Pat Travers fans for the most part before the show. But once he took his place onstage next to Pat and played for the (slightly over) two hour gig, everyone took notice of him, and were commenting just how much Kasim complimented Pat's playing with his amazing bass riffs. Some guys were just as overwhelmed with Kasim's playing, as they were with Pat's, and these guys definitely were not easily swayed, but Kasim won them over with ease"

"During the gig, Kasim did look to Pat from time to time, but I saw it as like how he constantly keeps an eye on Meat Loaf, or any other artist he's worked with onstage really -- Pat seems to be one who might change guitar notes at the drop of a hat or lengthen or shorten a piece if the mood strikes him, and as usual, Kasim was able to keep the pace no problem at all."

"Kasim was constantly smiling and laughing and seeming to have the best time performing with Sandy and Pat. Maybe its because they're friends (I'm pretty sure at least anyway), but also I think it might have been that this music in particular let Kasim shine with his playing and let him have a little more musical freedom then other artists' music he's performed onstage sometimes. He also interacted with the audience a lot and got a kick out of the guys and gals shouting and yelling to him throughout the show. "

"And he wears the heck out of his bass! After the show, I had to hold his bass for a second, so he could sign something for a fan, and I honestly thought I messed up his bass strings, as the top couple were really loose -- I realized later that he actually uses those strings the most and wears them down THAT much!"

"I've seen Kasim perform with many different artists of varying types of music genres; and every single time, he blends right in with the band and music, and usually appears to have no trouble at all playing and performing it. I think he could handle just about any musical style with ease, and Pat Travers' guitar rock style suited him perfectly. I didn't know the songs per say, but it's never stopped me before in coming out to root him on, and just watch an amazing performer and person in general. Every single time, I get a little more amazed, and all the more proud. He's a true master of his craft and also a true at heart person. Any artist should be begging to have him backing them up (if he can't devote all of his time to his own work that is!)." - Jennifer Salyer
