"We played Kokomo, IN yesterday ( the 4th of July ) and Eric thought it would be fun to give props to the town by doing a version of the Beach Boy's song ( which is actually about a town called Kokomo in Florida!).
We couldn't very well practice at soundcheck because it would have given the surprise away so we ran over our version of it in the dressing room before we went on stage that night.
Note to self ..... don't think because you ran over a song you've never played before that it's gonna sound great.
It wasn't what we thought it would be. Of course we screwed it up but I'm pretty sure the crowd appreciated the effort.
Kudo's to Richie Castellano who never ceases to amaze me. He played a note perfect Steel Drum part on the song."

Tonight Kasim Sulton plays a gig as part of Blue Öyster Cult in Kokomo, IN. The gig tonight is at the Haynes Apperson Festival.

This festival runs from 4th July through until the 6th and is located in Foster Park which is in downtown Kokomo. As well as themusic, today there is an antique car Commemorative Run from the Haynes Monument at Goyer and Boulevard at 4pm.

Tickets for the festival are $20 for each night or all three nights as a package for $50. They can be purchased at various locations in the city.

Tonight Misfit Toys play from 6.30pm until 7.30pm and then Blue Öyster Cult are the headliners from 8pm until 10pm.

Last night Blue Öyster Cult played in Muskegon, MI so they will have had a four hour drive (211 miles) due south.
