The band sounded great. I thought Richie was a little high in the mix (conversely, Buck was a little low), but that could be where my seats were at.

The soundcheck included Harvest Moon and I Love the Night.

I liked the Cities on Flames encore. Nice surprise (as I anticipated Hot Rails).

Buck noted how their day started at 4.15am that day in MS (where they played the night before).

During Godzilla, the guys played a medley of tunes from Kasim's former engagements (Joan Jett's I Love Rock and Roll, Todd Rundgren Bang The Drum All Day and Meat Loaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light).

Kasim is a great addition to the band.

Tonight Kasim Sulton plays a Blue Öyster Cult gig at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT.

Tonight the gig is in the Wolf Den area of The Mohegan Sun Casino. This means that the concert is a free concert but the downside is that you have to queue to get in and usually it is a shortened set (as the casino want people to get back to the tables!). It is also limied to people 21+.

Kasim has played at this casino loads of times in the past decade. In 13th November 1999 he played on the Meat Loaf StoryTellers Tour here but in a larger room than the Wolf Den. He first played in this section in June 2000 when he played on the Todd Rundgren Power Trio Tour. September 2003 saw Kasim again at The Mohegan Sun. This time it was on the Meat Loaf Couldn't Have Said It Better Tour but in the Arena. Kasim was back at The WolfTrap Den in May 2004 for Todd Rundgren's Liars Tour. On 15th August 2005 on the Meat Loaf Hair Of The Dog Tour (in the Arena) Kasim again played here followed by a visit here for a Meat Loaf promotional gig on 12th November 2006 and again on 27th July 2007 on the Meat Loaf Seize The Night Tour. Kasim's last gig here was on 10th April 2010 on the Todd Rundgren Robert Johnson Tour.

This venue have a policy of seaching everybody entering the venue and has a long list of prohibited items which includes streamers and beach balls! It says that disposable cameras are permitted and that it is a non-smoking venue.

The gig starts tonight at 8pm.
