Crying In The Sunshine Lady Face Dust In The Wind Utopia Theme Freak Parade Another Life The Ikon (part) Heavy Metal Kids The Wheel . Set Me Free Do Ya The Last Ride Freedom Fighters Just One Victory
Sons of 1984 "Turned out the show was basically the 1974 line-up (I don't count M. Frog in that because thanks to Moogy we now know he was just a human effects pedal.) So the core 5 of them plus the 2 background vocalists. Jesse only played on 3 songs or so - just ones where Todd sang only; one of the Moogy songs at the beginning, plus the encores. Kasim was a back-up singer, except on Set Me Free where he played keys and sang." "Basically, the first 5 songs, from my perspective, were Moogy's opening set. Then Todd strapped on foamy and announced something like, we are now entering into once charted, currently uncharted waters, and the Todd Rundgren's Utopia set commenced." "They did not play the entire Ikon. They did play a good 15 minutes of it, including everything through the first vocal section They didn't cover the "Still... be still" part, or the "the question comes to mind... you don't have to be afraid" part. They played many of the instrumental segments, including that country-ish part beginning at about the 24 minute mark that I believe Moogy wrote. They definitely were not shy about the piece; I think they made an intelligent choice about how to cut it down from 30 minutes and still do the music justice. let's face it, we're not a bunch of skinny tripping 20-year-olds anymore, I'm not sure we collectively were up for a 30-minute version." "I thought Set Me Free did seem an odd choice, other songs from that era would have fit better thematically; but I assume the point was a Kasim feature spot so what else would have made better sense? Todd called it Utopia's only hit, and noted that Shelly Winters liked it."
