Kasim Sulton's Solo Career
To the delight of his fans Kasim Sulton restarted his solo career in April 2001. Since then he has played multiple solo gigs each year all over the US, plus 3 solo gigs abroad.
In 2002 Kasim Sulton released his solo CD Quid Pro Quo which won the Kweevak.com 2003 People's Choice Award. Kasim followed this in 2007 with a compilation 27 track 2-CD album called All Sides which brings together the best songs of Kasim's 30+ years career. Kasim is currently writing songs for another album which he aims to release in 2012.
Whenever he is able Kasim plays gigs either solo or as part of The Kasim Sulton Band. His last solo tour was during May 2010 covering Chicago, Fort Atkinson, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Cleveland and Boston. Although Kasim is concentrating on writing songs for his new album at the moment, he still plays the occasional solo gig too.
An in-depth interview with Kasim was posted to KasimInfo.com eight years ago and each month Kasim posts a message to KasimInfo.com.

Kasim with Todd Rundgren
Kasim has worked with Todd Rundgren ever since he joined the band Utopia in 1976. Since then Kasim has always been Todd's first choice to play bass.
During 2004 Kasim Sulton toured the US, Europe and Japan with Todd Rundgren to promote his album, Liars. This link has reviews of the gigs and a DVD of the tour was later released.
Kasim joined Todd on tour in both Europe and US to promote his new Arena album during 2008 and 2009 as well as a few gigs to celebrate Todd's album A Wizard, A True Star.
More recently Kasim has played a series of Robert Johnson music gigs with Todd. He then toured with him for a series of gigs which were described as 'Classic Todd Rundgren.' He is now touring as part of Todd Rundgren's Utopia.

Kasim with Meat Loaf
Kasim played bass and sang background vocals on Bat Out Of Hell in 1976 and then joined Meat Loaf's band in 1993.
He was promoted to Musical Director and toured worldwide with him until 2009, appearing on all his albums during that period. He also produced his StoryTellers album.
Although Kasim has now left his band, he sang background and played bass on Meat Loaf's latest album Hang Cool Teddy Bear.

Kasim and The New Cars
During 2006 Kasim joined Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince to tour as The New Cars on their Road Rage Tour. Unfortunately the tour was canceled halfway through as Elliot Easton broke his shoulder. The tour resumed in November and December and, despite Kasim's heavy schedule of Meat Loaf commitments at that time, he played most of the gigs on the winter leg of the tour and more in summer'07.
Unfortunately it appears unlikely that any more gigs will be played at the present time.

"Kasim is a songwriter of uncommon gifts. I cannot recommend this performer highly enough to anyone who is a fan of pop music or singer/songwriters in general. He was simply one of the best I've ever seen"
